Do you have a passion for nursing? Are you a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse with training and experience in Mental Health and Substance Use? We are seeking a motivated registered nurse with a real dedication for delivering compassionate care to join our Mobile Crisis Response Team.

Build on your career experience by:

Providing person-centered and recovery oriented care to individuals with mental illness and/or substance use issues
Responding to crisis situations, determining appropriate response, coordinating with emergency providers, providing short term treatment and stabilization
Working collaboratively and in partnership with the interprofessional care team to identify risks and urgency of interventions
Conducting emergency on-site assessment of persons who are thought to be in psychiatric or psychosocial crises
Advocating for clients, ensuring basic needs are met through accessing available programs
Participating in research and quality improvement activities
Educating clients and families with information regarding early intervention, crisis management, suicide prevention, community resources and coping with illness

 

Your background includes:

Graduate of an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing
Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP)
Two (2) years recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders
Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.

 

This role is a full-time position located in Surrey, BC.
