Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Nurse Practitioner, Adult Rehabilitation, will focus on the provision of expert clinical care in managing the health needs of individuals. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the NP provides direct patient care using advanced assessment skills, knowledge of disease pathology, pharmacology, therapeutic skill, intervention management and referrals. This position predominately focuses on stroke rehabilitation patients.
Description:
The role of the Nurse Practitioner, Adult Rehabilitation, will help provide continuity of care to complex patients and their families across the continuum of health care services. A self-directed NP will provide leadership through comprehensive knowledge of best practice and actively participating in program development. Education for bedside RNs/LPNs is an important aspect of the role. The successful applicant accepts responsibility for continuing education and competencies through ongoing professional development, research and quality activities.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a Masters Degree in Nursing. Current registration and NP practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Heart and Stroke Foundation certification in BLS.

Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years recent medical/surgical clinical nursing or NP experience. Relevant experience in Adult Rehabilitation. Current Heart and Stroke Foundation certification in ACLS preferred.
