EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Maplewood Care Society (MCS) is looking for a Registered Nurse with leadership skills to join their team as Director of Care to support improvements in the quality of life and care of residents.
The Director of Care is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of all clinical programs and holding team members accountable for the quality of care services. As a passionate leader and expert clinician you enjoy taking a hands-on approach to leading, mentoring and helping the team as required. The Director of Care works collaboratively with the rest of the MCS leadership team to ensure Maplewood’s residents, clients and family members receive excellent quality of care and have the opportunities necessary to enjoy the best quality of life possible given their individual circumstances.

OUR STORY
Maplewood Care Society is a non-profit society incorporated in 1969, providing quality long-term care services in Abbotsford. The Society is devoted to uncompromising effort and provision of resources in maintaining a home-like atmosphere and support for residents’ health – their physical, mental and social wellness – while maximizing their individual independence. We operate two long-term care facilities in Abbotsford, BC - The MSA Manor (est. 1973) and The Maplewood House (est. 1989). Additionally, we offer an Adult Day Program to help clients maintain their independence to live safely and well at home.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will focus on:

Providing leadership, coaching and support to the nursing staff.
-
Achieving Resident and Employee Engagement Targets.

Meeting or surpassing all quality indicators for residents in accordance with MCS and FHA guidelines.

Achieving regulatory compliance in relation to health care records and applicable adult care regulations.

Hire, train and engage a team of clinical staff to deliver care in a unionized environment.
Duties and functions:
-
Actively participate in the quality improvement program and monitor and track indicators.

Ensure team members maintain a safe workplace environment through implementation of safe work practices.

Provide leadership for evidence-based practice.

Ensure policies, procedures and clinical standards are current and support best practice and care outcomes.

Lead the accreditation process.

Work collaboratively with the FHA.

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Degree/diploma in nursing.
-
Minimum of three years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in a supervisory capacity in a health care setting.

Minimum of one year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in the long-term care sector.

Current BCCNM registration as a Registered Nurse.
