Position Summary


We are looking for a registered nurse to fill an emergency nursing position we have within our team at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital. If you are an experienced registered nurse and would like to move into the emergency but do not have formal education, we would love to consider you for paid in-house emergency training. This training would require an 18-month return of service commitment. Emergency Nurse Orientation 3.0 online theory based modules are prerequisites to this line. These modules are 95 hours and the approximate completion time is 10 -12 weeks.

The Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital and we offer services including surgical, inpatient and emergency. We have 6 acute care beds with a small 24 hour emergency department that includes 4 bays and 1 trauma bay. As part of our cohesive team of healthcare professionals, you will work hand in hand with local physicians and LPN’s, to deliver patient centred care!

Hours of work: Monday through Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

Qualifications


• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years.
• ACLS and/or TNCC would be an asset.
