Position: Program Lead, Credentialing Centre


The Program Lead, Credentialing Centre, is responsible for the overall management of the certification professional development and accreditation programs as well as being the liaison with CNA’s Network of Nursing Specialties (CNNS). The Program Lead is responsible for the day-to-day planning, execution and evaluation of the operations. The Program Lead is also responsible for developing program policy, monitoring key performance indicators and fostering collaboration with individual as well as national and international stakeholders. The Program Lead, Credentialing Centre, reports to and acts as a key resource for the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes and evaluates the overall operations, policies and procedures in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer
  • Represents CNA at events as required
  • Assesses and makes recommendations on services required to meet the needs of its constituents
  • Ensures the programs meet or exceed relevant professional standards
  • In collaboration with the Lead, Customer Excellence develops a marketing and promotions plan for the Centre
  • Leads and manages projects for the division as required
  • Ability to build effective relationships with nurses, national and international nursing organizations, employers, policy makers, researchers and business partners
  • Links with policy makers and researchers together to facilitate their interaction and to assist in forging new partnerships in support of evidence informed decision-making
  • Works in collaboration with other divisions to ensure the implementation of an effective marketing and promotional plan for the division
  • Researches, drafts and leads the development or contributes to the writing of reports, concept papers, background papers, position papers, correspondence and responses to specific inquiries
  • Conducts environmental scans, literature reviews and trend analysis to determine the need for change to policies and innovative approaches to provide services as it relates to certification and professional development
  • Manages the staff within the Centre


  • Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner
  • Master’s degree in nursing, education, health administration or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing large-scale programs/operations
  • Able to demonstrate recent experience in health care or education
  • Able to demonstrate recent leadership experience in health care and/or education
  • Development, implementation and evaluation of innovative programs
  • Ability to lead teams with diverse interests
  • Fluently bilingual in English/French
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and related software
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory issues in nursing
  • Acumen in adult learning principles and program evaluation
  • Superior leadership and communication skills
  • Evidence of sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of legal and ethical issues related to the nursing profession
  • Understanding of budgeting and financial statements
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with senior management, staff, peers in other organizations, clients, CNA members and board members
