Position Summary

RIH is a tertiary referral hospital and our Emergency department has 18 beds, 2 trauma bays, a clinical decision area, streaming area, minor treatment area, and an ambulatory care area. We treat 75,000 patient per year and our nursing staff work 12 hour shifts. We see a broad spectrum of patients in age and acuity. Due to our geographical location and outdoor activities we see a large amount of trauma. We have a High Acuity Response Team at RIH that works directly with the BC Ambulance Services to transport patients from lower acuity sites to our hospital.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Advanced preparation in an emergency clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years.
