Position Summary

If you are a Registered Nurse who takes pride in having a strong work ethic, excellent communication and have experience related to public health nursing, then we would love to hear from you for our position in Sparwood.

This is a Relief Part Time (0.85 FTE) position until December 14, 2023 or return of incumbent.
Shifts times are Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30 with every 2nd Friday off.

The Public Health Nurse (PHN), as an integral member of the Public Health Services team, provides nursing services within the framework of the Population Health/Health Promotion Model. Inherent in the role are knowledge, skills and abilities specific to health promotion, epidemiology, community development, primary health care, social determinants of health and illness, and disease and injury prevention. Public Health Nurses translate knowledge from the health and social sciences to support health enhancing behaviours to diverse individuals, families, and population groups through universal and targeted interventions, programs and advocacy. Services are offered in communities, schools, homes and outreach locations to individuals, families and communities.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Six (6) months recent, related experience in public health nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training experience.

Current valid BC Driver’s License.
