Job title: HIGH ACUITY RESPONSE NURSE
Community: FLEXIBLE
Facility: FLEXIBLE
Status: PERMANENT FULL TIME

Position Summary
TOUCHING LIVES! ROOM FOR GROWTH! INDEPENDENT PRACTICE! These are just a few of the descriptions that describe Interior Health’s High Acuity Response Team (HART) program and we are seeking critical care trained nurses to be part of this innovative program.

The HART program at Interior Health is a very successful innovative provincial initiative. The mission is to provide mobile critical care for patients who reside in the rural areas. The clinical scope of service encompasses patients who require greater than Basic Life Support level of care. The team is comprised of a Critical Care RN and Registered Respiratory Therapist as required. They are supported by Basic Life Support paramedics provided by the British Columbia Ambulance Service and an on-call transport physician. The team responds to rural health care facilities by ground ambulance. Working in a team environment, HART collaborates with rural clinicians to stabilize the patient and when appropriate, transport the patient to a higher level of care.

When not on transport, HART Clinicians are actively supporting patient care at their base hospital. Each base site performs on average 1 transport/day with the majority of calls at a CTAS II level or higher.

This ground-breaking program is a proven success and we are looking for you to join us as we expand the transport teams throughout the region. We currently have transport teams based in:

~ Cranbrook bordering the Rocky Mountains
~ Trail in the heart of the Kootenay region
~ Kamloops in the serene and beautiful Thompson Shuswap region
~ Penticton in the world renowned Okanagan Valley

We currently have permanent, relief and casual opportunities available:

• Trail, permanent full time, permanent part time (0.5FTE)
• Cranbrook, permanent part time (0.50FTE) ($10,000 rural recruitment bonus), and relief full time
