About the Role

Satori Health provides rural community care in partnership with the hamlet of Wabasca-Desmarais in northern Alberta.  This role is crucial in supporting the ongoing patient care at a primary care clinic in Wabasca. The Nurse Practitioner should be comfortable to liaise and consult with physicians as part of the care team, and to perform a comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, intervention, management, referral, and evaluation of patient care across the continuum of health care services. This role allows Nurse Practitioners the opportunity to work autonomously and to full-scope of practice.  MD of opportunity - Home (mdopportunity.ab.ca)

This role requires:

  • Delivering exceptional patient care of a Primary Care practice located in Wabasca
  • Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostics tests
  • Providing pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies
  • Providing education, advice, coaching, and counseling related to both acute and chronic conditions
  • Assisting patient with obtaining and accessing resources
  • Flexible work schedule with a 1–2 week rotation

You Bring:

  • Experience in a wide range of assessment, treatment, and therapeutic interventions
  • Encompass strong communications skills with experience in motivational interviewing
  • Interest in working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
  • Ability to use evidence-based practice to formulate diagnoses and establish comprehensive, holistic, therapeutic care plans
  • Knowledge and experience in primary care
  • Computer literacy skills, including EMRs and Microsoft suite of software
  • Valid All-Ages or Adult Nurse Practitioner license in Alberta
  • Health Insurance Provider Identification Number (Practice ID)

Considered an Asset:

  • Care experience in women's health, pregnancy & post-partum, venereal disease and diabetes management
  • Comfort with living independently in a rural setting
  • Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities for optimal health care provision
  • Knowledge and experience in primary care in a rural/remote setting
  • Autonomous Advanced Practice Nursing experience
