Senior Director Clinical Services & Professional Practice

<p>&lt;p&gt;Position Description:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Director of Clinical Services and Professional Practice is a skilled clinical, evidenced based, professional leader responsible for overall strategic management of clinical operations.&amp;nbsp; The Senior Director of plays a pivotal strategic role in the delivery and evaluation of resident centred care using an intraprofessional approach.&amp;nbsp; The Senior Director will play the lead role in defining quality care processes and creating a quality practice environment characterized by evidence based practice, full scope of practice, interprofessional collaboration, continuing competence and quality resident outcomes.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The Senior Director researches practice/care issues and develops recommendations to resolve issues in accordance with applicable legislation, collective agreements, company policies, programs or practices.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Qualifications:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;ul&gt; &lt;li&gt;Degree in&amp;nbsp; Nursing supplemented by at least 5 years of recent, related clinical and operational management experience in a health care environment, preferably in a long term care setting. (Masters degree preferred)&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Current CRNNS registration&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Certification in Gerontology or CHE Certification preferred&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Demonstrated excellence in strategic planning and management skills&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Demonstrated ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Experience with developing, implementing and evaluating Clinical Strategy and operational plans&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Proficient in the use of MS office applications&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ul&gt; &lt;p&gt;Performance Requirements:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;ul&gt; &lt;li&gt;Establishes and evaluates the Clinical Services/Interprofessional Practice Strategic Plan in collaboration with the Senior Team within the available budgeted resources.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Effective oversight of all clinical information systems which inform quality of service delivery and provides leadership to the clinical management team in their responsibilities for risk and quality management.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;&amp;nbsp;Excellent ability to foster collaborative and effective working relationships to support the mandate of the portfolio and contributes to an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Maintains awareness of evolving trends and practices in long term care, shares knowledge and supports all members of the intraprofessional team to embrace clinical excellence by integrating evidence informed practice into both the delivery of quality resident care and effective interprofessional practice.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Ensures that all clinical services are provided in conformance with all applicable legislative/regulatory requirements&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Mentors and manages the performance of all direct reports and ensures that the appropriate supports are in place for career development and performance management.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Skilled application in the provision of guidance, counselling and coaching&amp;nbsp; in regards to disciplinary actions, terminations, performance management&amp;nbsp; and fact-finding investigations.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ul&gt;</p>
