About the Opportunity

Bruce County is currently seeking a Director of Care - Quality & Standards to lead members of Brucelea Haven LTC team.

Based in Walkerton and reporting to the Administrator, Brucelea Haven, you will oversee the delivery of excellent resident-focused care as required by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Your hours of work will be 12 pm to 8 pm each day Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week.

More specifically, you will be responsible for the effective leadership, management, and evaluation of the nursing program to ensure the efficient utilization of human, physical, and financial resources. You will ensure that continuous quality improvement outcomes approved for the facility are met or exceeded, and demonstrate dedication to professional values and the mission, vision and values of long-term care.

With 130 direct reports, the Director is also responsible for coordinating regular team meetings with the assigned nursing teams to effectively communicate and problem-solve, resulting in solution-based, outcome focused actions.

To qualify for this role, you must have a degree in Nursing with studies in Geriatrics and/or Nursing Administration, combined with at least five years experience as a registered nurse, as well as three years of previous experience in a supervisory role in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care facility. A certificate in leadership will be considered an asset.
