Community Mental Health Nurse - Mental Health & Addictions

Reporting to the Manager, Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions - Adult and Seniors, the Community Mental Health Nurse is a member of the multidisciplinary team  and participates in the planning, development, and provision of mental health services for an assigned patient population.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

* Must be registered within the Province of Nova Scotia or become eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia

* Clinical experience in mental health & addictions

* Must have a thorough knowledge of nursing practice with an interest in program development and evaluation skills

* Knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders

* Familiarity with various psychotherapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and/or Motivational Interviewing

* Demonstrate ability to work competently with individual, families, groups and the community

* Ability to work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team and make independent nursing judgements and take appropriate action

* Must have experience working in the community

* Supervisory, teaching and/or community nursing experience an asset

* Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in official languages, considered an asset

* Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work

* Regular full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

* Some travel will be required

Salary Information

Community Mental Health Nurse  (RN03):

$34.0386 - $40.5792  hourly

($41.3789 with 25 years of nursing experience)
