Psychiatric Intensive Care Emergency Team Nurse

Island Health is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Intensive Care Emergency Team Nurse in Victoria.

As part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team, you will deliver patient/client-centered crisis stabilization and/or intensive care. You will be responsible for providing care to patients/clients in the Psychiatric Emergency Service and Psychiatric Intensive Care Units including performing assessment with complete mental status assessment, addictions screening, develop and carry out therapeutic care plans, teaching with patient/clients and families and document the assessment and care.

You will also collaborate with other health care professionals to coordinate care in the best interest of the patient/client.

You are registered with the BC College of Nursing Professional as a practicing RN registrant or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of BC, and have two years of experience working with persons with acute mental illness, including working with multi-disciplinary teams, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Working knowledge of relevant legislation and knowledge of the Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing (2nd ed.) is required, as is current CPR Basic Rescuer certification.
