As a Head Nurse with our 40-bed Long Term Care department, you will be responsible for overseeing and providing patient care at the facility and collaborating with other interdisciplinary team members. You will demonstrate effective time management, organization skills, communication and interpersonal skills. Your critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills will aide you in being successful in this position. You will be an integral member of our interdisciplinary team, belonging to a dynamic group of individuals who support each other and work to ensure we are providing the best client care we can. Description:

As a Head Nurse, you will be responsible for the promotion of effective relationships within the interprofessional team, while both coordinating and supervising care delivery, providing clinical guidance and supporting the development of staff in a resourceful and effective manner. As Head Nurse you will also assist in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of progressive and comprehensive programs, policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of care for patients (clients, residents). You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with senior care is preferred.
  • RAI 2.0. and Supportive Pathways is preferred.
  • Charge Nurse experience is preferred.
