Salary $63,520.66 to $72,512.08 annually

The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) promotes and develops the capacity of families and communities to care for and protect vulnerable children and youth, and supports healthy child and family development to maximize the potential of every child in B.C.

Mental health clinicians on MCFD’s community based Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) teams work in partnership with families and communities to foster positive mental health outcomes and well-being. As a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician working with other professionals, you provide direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety plans and crisis intervention for children and youth from birth to age 18 and their families. Clinicians work in flexible ways, including in home, school and community settings. Through consultation and collaboration you will build and maintain relationships to support coordinated, youth and family-friendly services, contributing to positive outcomes for children, youth and families..


Qualifications for this role include:

  • Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
