Position: Registrar, Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA)
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon
Posting closing date: Sept 27/2018
This is a Permanent position working Monday to Friday 60 hours bi-weekly (potential to increase to 70 hours biweekly as is under review)
Wage: Starting at $45.00/hour and up (depending on experience)
Must be willing to travel outside of Yukon on occasion
4 weeks annual vacation

Scope of position:
The Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA) is the regulatory body and professional association for registered nurses and nurse practitioners in the Yukon.
The YRNA exists to ensure public protection with regard to nursing practice. The YRNA is responsible for establishing and promoting standards of practice, regulating nursing practice and for advancing nursing excellence.
Position Title: Registrar
This position is a Leadership opportunity. The Registrar is responsible for protecting the integrity and credibility of the Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA) mandate to regulate the profession and interest of the public. The Registrar administers the registration and licensure services of the Association in accordance with the Act, regulations, bylaws and policies. The Registrar is accountable for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling the registration functions at the YRNA. The registration function involves managing and directing the processes whereby the Association ensures that nurses who seek to practice nursing are competent to practice. The Registrar is an ex-officio member of the Board and is accountable to the Board for the Associations performance as per regulatory policies.
Working in partnership with the Executive Director and the Board, the Registrar provides leadership to staff, membership and the Board in the interpretation, implementation and achievement of the regulatory functions and governance policies.

Proficient Organizational Navigator – Understands the social and political dynamics within and outside the organization. Builds and maintains partnerships, and alliances with key stakeholders to maximize resources of the organization, and ensures and enhances organizational effectiveness. Must be able to make independent decisions related to responsibilities as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (or significant experience)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in progressive nursing leadership practice, education or management
Comprehensive knowledge of the nursing profession, its role in the health care system and the role of regulatory authorities
