Position Summary

Interior Health is currently hiring a Term Specific Part Time (0.70 FTE) Rural & Remote Adult Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Nurse to join our community crisis response team (CCRT) in Williams Lake. Candidates will need to have experience providing brief mental health and substance use assessments of clients in crisis, and work in a variety of settings such as office-based, community-based and in hospital. We are seeking candidates with flexibility, critical thinking skills and an ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.

The Rural & Remote Adult Mental Health & Substance Use Nurse works as an integral part of an integrated mental health and substance use service. The Nurse provides urgent outreach, responsive assessment and treatment, case management, GP shared care, education, and support to individuals experiencing acute and/or chronic mental illness and/or problem substance use.

The shift types for this position are days and evenings; shift times are from 14:00 to 22:00

Biweekly hours are 52.50

This position is projected to end on June 30, 2021

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
  • Two (2) years’ recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNM).
  • Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
