More about Island Health...

“I was drawn to rural nursing and the uniqueness of it and knew Cormorant Island Community Health Centre would provide an extraordinary learning opportunity. Prior to taking the job my husband and I toured the island and immediately connected with the peaceful beauty of the land as well as the kindness of the local people. CICHC offers a great opportunity to work with an integrated team which includes multiple health sectors including the nearby Health Ctr run by the local Namgis people. The hospital is well supported with highly trained nurses and physicians who value team principles. I also feel well connected and supported by the Island Health extended team based in PHH and PMH. After many years in urban health care settings, it has been a refreshing and inspiring experience so far working and living on Cormorant Island.”
