Health Care Aide (Nursing) Instructor

The Nursing Education and Health Studies department is seeking one full-time Sessional Instructor and one part-time Sessional Instructor to teach the Health Care Aide Program at our Fairview Campus, Alberta.  These roles will run from December 5, 2022 to May 5, 2023.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be a regulated nurse in Alberta in good standing with their regulatory college with no conditions on their practice permit. Regulated nurses in Alberta include registered nurses (RN), registered psychiatric nurses (RPN), nurse practitioners (NP), and licensed practical nurses (LPN). One-year full time equivalent (1,500 worked hours) clinical nursing or nursing education experience in Canada within the three years immediately preceding this appointment is required.  

In addition, at a minimum, one of the following is required: 

  • One-year adult teaching experience; 
  • A baccalaureate degree in education; or 
  • Completion of an adult teaching/learning education program. 

Applicants not meeting one of the requirements listed previously must enroll in a degree or continuing education adult teaching/learning program within one year of hire and provide annual evidence of progress toward completion of the program. 

Previous experience in teaching or supervision of students is desired.  Experience with student centered learning approaches would be an asset.
