Job Information

Located within Stanton Territorial Hospital, and reporting directly to the Manager, Renal and Cancer Care, you would participate in a team of Registered Nurses who, with the support of Clinical Coordinator and the Unit Clerk, provides Chemotherapy to outpatients in the Chemo/IV Therapy Unit.

You may function in a supportive/assisting role in a delegated, independent manner.  You would act as a patient advocate and would facilitate communications between the patient, family, the physician, specialists, and other health care professionals within and beyond Stanton Territorial Hospital.  Patients, family members and other caregivers of patients will often contact your unit for advice or direction prior, during and /or after the procedure, test or treatment.  This constant and continuing communication and support results in a holistic approach to planning, organizing, teaching, and relationship development that will best meet the short and long term needs of the patient.

Typically, the qualification should be attained by:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, with recent experience in an Ambulatory care environment, Chemotherapy and I/V drug administration, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in acute care.

Registrations

Eligible for current registration/certification with the Registered Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut is mandatory for this position.

Salary Information

The salary for this position starts at $47.68 per hour (approximately $92,976. per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
