Island Health is seeking Registered Nurses for the Medical/Surgical Unit at North Island Hospital

Island Health is seeking Registered Nurses for the Medical/Surgical Unit at the North Island Hospital Comox Valley.

Comox Valley Hospital is a newer facility that opened in 2017. With the help of a supportive team, you will be working on a medical or surgical unit with 17-20 beds per unit and active ORs in the hospital. There is a large percentage of general orthopedic and urology cases.

Nestled between the mountains and ocean on central Vancouver Island, the Comox Valley is an ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts. It is one of the few places you can golf and ski in the same day, explore the endless hiking/mountain biking trails or embark on a kayak adventure.

The Comox Valley comprises three unique communities – Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland. The region is growing rapidly due to housing being more affordable than bigger urban centres and friendly neighbourhoods that are ideal for raising a family.

This is your opportunity to work for the largest employer on Vancouver Island, and live in a small community that offers reasonable real estate prices and plenty of outdoor activities. Do you have a spouse that may be seeking employment? Island Health has a wide variety of opportunities – almost something for everyone.

We have several temporary and permanent positions available.

Qualifications:

  • registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant
  • Basic Life Support, Level C
  • post-basic education for clinical areas and up to one year of recent, related experience (or equivalent)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and specialty certification
