We are looking for a motivated and engaged professional to champion our sites in this dual role as the Site Manager for Whitecourt Healthcare Centre and Mayerthorpe Healthcare Centre. Whitecourt Healthcare Centre is an energetic centre with 22 acute care beds and in a given year can see approximately 17,000+ Emergency Department visits, 140 deliveries annually and offers a well-supported endoscopy program. Mayerthorpe Healthcare Centre has an active 25 acute care department with a 30-bed auxiliary unit within the facility and see approximately 13,000+ emergency department visits annually. Situated on a northern gateway highway, Whitecourt is home to over 10,500 people and serves as a primary trading area to over 20,000 people. The growing town has a thriving economy, affordable housing and living, active community groups, and numerous outdoor and indoor leisure opportunities. It's great raising a family in a rural setting. Description:

As the Site Manager for both the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre and Mayerthorpe Healthcare Centre, you will lead the overall coordination and delivery of health services including acute medical, obstetrical, surgery and operating room. You will be accountable for the overall financial and human resources administration of both healthcare centres, working closely with other North Zone Managers, Physicians, and Directors to foster effective linkages and team building in order to advance the strategic director of the rural portfolio, ensuring standards and processes are aligned. You will liaise closely with respective communities, foundations, community health councils and partner agencies to advance population health and wellness agendas. You will also liaison with assigned Rural Health programs and Urban programs. 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Health related discipline. 5 to 10 years of direct operational management experience in health care environments. Eligible for or active registration and practice permit with the applicable College or Association. Possession of a valid driver's licence and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel. Proven ability in managing a complex department with multiple goals. Requires understanding of the inter-dependencies within the health care system, the Region and with educational institutions.

Demonstrated ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage short term and long term plans and projects and deliver customer focused results. Requires understanding of the inter-dependencies within the health care system, the Region and with educational institutions.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a rural healthcare facility.
