We have an exciting opportunity at Island Health, located on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, to influence and support the delivery of care for seniors – in hospital or in the community. We are looking for a Registered Nurse, Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Nurse Practitioner with education, training and experience in the areas of dementia, frailty, delirium, mental health and substance use, and other Geriatric Giants which impact the health and function of older adults. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (seniors), you will work collaboratively with physicians, patient care managers and community resources in planning and directing current and future initiatives toward evidence-based care of seniors in any setting or program within Island Health. You will participate at the local, regional and provincial levels in the development of seniors’ health-related systems, programs and projects. This is an island-wide position, with location to be determined.
You will have successfully completed your National Certification in Gerontological Nursing. You have a Master’s degree in Nursing, plus seven years’ experience in delivery of care to seniors across the continuum or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Previous experience in a leadership role is preferred. You have your current registration (or eligibility) for registration with the applicable professional college in British Columbia.
