Your Opportunity: 

An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse who has a passion for the Operating Room, or has an interest in advancing their career to the Operating Room.  We are looking for a Registered Nurse who enjoys working alongside other healthcare professionals who are just as passionate about offering great patient care.

Specific Accountabilities: 

 As the Registered Nurse, you will assist the members of the Operating Room with the continuity of nursing care for each patient. The Registered Nurse will assist in the application of the principles of aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for the welfare of the patient.  You will also assist in identifying deviations from the patient’s baseline data and assist with monitoring the patient’s progress through the operative and acute care experience.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing appropriate physical care to enable the patients to have a safe intra postoperative and acute care period. The Registered Nurse position required physical demands include lifting, pulling and pushing, walking, standing, transferring, and transporting clients and equipment up to a frequent basis.

 

Job Qualifications: 

Required qualifications:

- Active registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA).
- Graduation from a recognized Nursing education program.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Participation in the on-call rotation is required.

Preferred qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited academic institution desired.
- Peri-operative Surgical Certification.
- 1 year relevant Operating Room and OR/PARR Nursing experience.
- 1 year relevant Acute Care Nursing experience.
- A good knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Certification as may be required within the scope of the position assignment.
