The Stanton Territorial Health Authority (STHA) is offering challenging nursing work and work life balance. STHA is a 100 in-patient bed accredited facility in Yellowknife, and is a referral center for approximately 37,000 regional residents of the Western Arctic and Kitikmeot Region.  For more information please visit

Located within the STHA and reporting directly to the Manager, Surgical Services, the Clinical Coordinator, Surgery and Surgical Daycare Unit (CC) works from 0715-1515, Monday to Friday, and is responsible for monitoring the quality of nursing care within the 10 bed Surgery unit and the 10 bed SDCU which includes approximately 30 employees (Registered Nurses (RNs), Nursing Aides (NAs) and Unit Clerks).  The incumbent develops and delivers appropriate training, arranges for external training, revises policies and procedures to meet current standards of practice where appropriate, ensures that the staffing levels meet patient acuity needs and has a direct care role.

The incumbent would have advanced knowledge of the nursing process.  They would also have well developed leadership skills, knowledge of change management practices and  the ability to develop network resources within and outside of Stanton Hospital (i.e.: Social Services, Public Health, Medevac teams etc.).

Within the STHA all Registered Nurses must be registered with the Registered Nurses Association of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

The salary range for this position is from $49.02 per hour to $58.53 per hour (approximately $95,589-$114,134 plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,450. A comprehensive benefits package includes:

-        Participation in the Federal Public Service Superannuation Plan

-        Mandatory Leave With Pay – a 5 day period you are entitled to take 5 days off with pay within the fiscal year

-        16.5 days of annual vacation leave to start

-        Pay Increases, Health, Dental, Relocation expenses, Northern Living Allowance, Winter Bonus days, Special and

         Sick leave.
