The Hay River Health and Social Services Authority offers a full range of services that include a 29 bed accredited Hospital; a 15 bed long term care facility; a supportive living program consisting of three residential homes and a day program building; a medical clinic (including Specialists) and a variety of social, mental health, community and home care services.  Each area of service acts as a complementary component of the holistic care that is provided by the Authority

Job Description


The Registered Nurse - Acute & Ambulatory Care is a regulated member of the health care team who uses the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation), critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills, in keeping with the standards, and scope of nursing practice set by the Registered Nurses Association of Northwest Territories and Nunavut (RNANT/NU) and the policies, protocols, and guidelines of the Hay River Health & Social Services Authority, to provide quality nursing care to all clients, families, groups, communities and populations across the lifespan in all practice settings.  The RN is a generalist who provides nursing care to clients with acute, emergency, surgical, postoperative recovery, maternity/newborn and palliative care needs.


  • Current registration with the RNANWT/NU
  • BSN degree is desirable
  • Current CPR certification 
  • ACLS, TNCC & ENPC certification is desirable
  • Experience in an acute care hospital is required

Salary:                                    $42.75 to $51.03 per hour (Range 15)

In addition to an attractive salary, we offer a Northern Allowance of $2.88 per hour up to $5,624 per year.
