Director of Care /Accreditation Coordinator

Lynn Valley Care Centre is an accredited contracted residential care facility located in North Vancouver, BC. We provide Extended, complex, post operation, and respite care for more than 200 residents. The facility is licenced under Hospital Act part 2 by the BC Ministry of Health, and under Community Care & Assisted Living Act by the Health Authorities, and is well known in North Shore, lower Mainland & by Vancouver Coastal Health Authority for providing excellent care.  Lynn Valley Care Centre has been accredited by Accreditation Canada since 1993 and currently has been awarded for 4 years from 2015-2019.

We use a resident-centered approach and interdisciplinary collaboration with the resident’s voice as the focus when it comes to decisions concerning resident safety, day today care, quality of care, and end-of-life comfort measures.  Providing a pleasant and calm dining environment, fresh home-made meals served with a caring touch, and social activities that inspire residents mentally, engage them in reminiscence and connect them in a positive way to their environment are integral to enchanting quality of life for our residents.

Director of Care:

Reporting to the Administrator and as a result of an impending retirement, the Lynn Valley Care Center is looking for a professional health care director to join their team with a view of meeting the vision, mission and quality of care goals of the Center. The ideal Director is experienced in Long Term Care and is seasoned enough to provide leadership and management within an accredited environment promoting an interdisciplinary approach to a resident-centered model of care.    The focus will be to optimise continuous quality improvement utilizing evidence-based best practice. 


For the Director to be successful, we are looking for the following qualifications:

  • A 5-7years experience in Long Term Care Nursing with some managerial experience.
  • Current Registration with CRNBC.
  • Demonstrated Leadership ability with comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care techniques related to Long Term Care.
  • Ability to bring innovative thinking and continuous improvement mindset while able to work within the governing practices of the Centre.
  • A solid reputation for the level of care given to residents and families.
  • Good physical & mental health.
