Job Description

HSN is seeking an accomplished health care executive to fill the position of Associate Vice President (AVP), Acute Care.

Reporting to the VP, Patient Services, Clinical Transformation & Chief Nursing Officer, the AVP oversees the day-to-day operations of the Acute-Care Patient Services Portfolio, leading and empowering over 1000 multidisciplinary staff in the delivery of high quality patient-centred care. The AVP will continue to steward a continuous improvement culture that supports better care delivery, improved patient outcomes, and enhances employee satisfaction while ensuring high standards of interprofessional care are embedded in the practice of the professional staff, operational activities and care systems across the portfolio.

As an ideal candidate, you bring previous experience working in a senior leadership role within a large multi-specialty acute health care facility or health care environment combined with a track record of success in leading successful change in patient-centred care delivery.  A strategic thinker with a business mind set, you strive for quality and excellence in everything you do.  Your understanding of LEAN or other analogous continuous improvement methodologies, coupled with your willingness to “seek to understand” from others and build capacity in your team to problem solve and sustain improvements, will be fundamental to your success.  You are an outstanding communicator and relationship builder with proven capability to collaborate with physicians, community partners, funding agencies and numerous internal and external stakeholders.  Your dedication to ensuring the voice of the patient is at the forefront of care will enable opportunities for patient advisors, patients and families to provide feedback in ensuring that HSN attains breakthrough performance in its Acute Care portfolio.
